Among the exciting updates to the 2024 GAM3 Awards is an increased prize pool of $5 million dollars, which includes grants, products, services, marketing and blockchain support from partners like AWS, XAI, Thirdweb, Aethir, Community Gaming and others to help finalists and winners develop even more.
In addition to YGG, GAM3 partnered with Arbitrum, Magic Eden, Immutable, Avalanche and Skale to make this year's event even bigger and better than previous years.
This year's jury consisted of more than 70 prominent figures from traditional and blockchain games. The jury included representatives from companies such as Amazon, Google, Samsung, Ubisoft, Animoca Brands, Immutable, Arbitrum, Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA), Base, Ronin and Avalanche, as well as content creators and major media outlets such as VentureBeat.
As in previous years, during the voting process, the jury votes made up 90% of the final decision, with the remaining 10% being community votes in most categories, with the exception of People's Choice and Best Content Creator, which were 100% based on community votes, and Game Choice, which was based on game studios voting for their favorite game.
Community voting played a role in the final decisions, with over 1 million votes from over 143,000 unique voters. The 2024 GAM3 Awards were announced in early October. Since then, hundreds of web3 games have encouraged their communities to nominate and vote for them in various categories. Thousands of social posts have been shared with partners, games, media, content creators and community members, garnering over 60 million impressions.
The GAM3 Awards 2024 ceremony, held on November 22, drew 48,000 viewers, with more than 450,000 people watching in just the first 24 hours. Gunzilla Games' Off The Grid won four awards, including Game of the Year. It was followed by Parallel, which received three awards. Pixels and Pirate Nation took home two awards each!
With over 300 people in attendance, the audience was able to see gameplay premieres and exclusive premiere trailers of Golden Tides, Unfettered, Elumia, Providence, Shrapnel, Raven Quest, Mighty Bear Games, Revenge, Trail Xtreme, Warped and more.
Off The Grid (OTG) is a new AAA third-person Battle Royale 2.0 shooter set in a dystopian cyberpunk future. The game is developed by Gunzilla Games at Avalanche Network.
On the same day, Coinbase Ventures joined Gunzilla as an investor and partner.
FIFA and Mythical Games unveiled a web3 mobile game FIFA Rivals
The game offers soccer fans an arcade-style gaming experience using blockchain.
FIFA Rivals is an officially licensed mobile game from FIFA, scheduled for release on iOS and Android. It aims to create a fast-paced arcade-style soccer game. Players will be able to create and manage their own soccer clubs, improve their teams and compete in real-time player versus player (PvP) mode.
In addition to the available free-to-play model, FIFA Rivals will feature hybrid web2 and web3 integration. Using the Mythos blockchain (Polkadot ecosystem), players will be able to own, trade and sell digital assets, including soccer stars, through in-game and web-based marketplaces. Mythical Games has designed this system to comply with app store regulations, providing a seamless user experience for regular gamers.
There are also plans to integrate FIFA Rivals into the FIFA esports platform, offering fans and players around the world new ways to participate in the sport.
MGGA Hat NFT Collection

Launched this week, Make GMT Great Again (MGGA) is a new collection of non-fungible tokens from GMT DAO, an independent GMT token holder community organization, issued to GMT holders. GMT is a utility crypto-token created on the Solana blockchain network to run the StepN gaming ecosystem. StepN is a mobile gaming app that encourages users to “move to earn GMT tokens.” StepN allows NFT sneaker wearers to earn GMT tokens by walking or running outdoors.
Earlier this week, the GMT DAO launched a lock and vote initiative that allowed GMT holders to lock their tokens and cast their vote on various proposals, including the creation of the first-of-its-kind “GMT Burning Initiative,” an event designed to put the future of GMT in the hands of the community. As part of the initiative, GMT holders voted to burn up to 600 million GMT tokens, equivalent to $100 million, making it one of the most ambitious token burns in the web3 ecosystem.
During the initiative, participants who voted in favor of the proposal received an exclusive Red Hat “Make GMT Great Again” soul-bonded NFT in recognition of their participation. Metadata detailing the claimed and eligible airdrops, as well as the votes cast in favor of them, will be recorded on this NFT. The GMT Burn initiative marks a new chapter in the development of GMT, giving each owner a voice.
