NFT News, week 1. Telegram Gifts
Top News. NFT-enabled collectible gifts in Telegram
Telegram's latest update allows users to turn collectible gifts into non-functioning tokens (NFTs), allowing them to be traded and owned on blockchain platforms.
Collectible gifts have special attributes and can be transferred to other users or auctioned on NFT trading platforms.
When you enhance a gift, it unlocks a new look from dozens of options created by Telegram artists. Collectible gifts also receive a random set of secondary attributes, including background color, icon, and number. This means that each collectible gift is a unique piece of art, and some will be rarer than others.
More than 20 existing gifts, such as a Homemade Cake, Jelly Bunny, Spiced Wine and Santa Hat, can already be turned into collectible gifts, totaling more than 1,400 unique pieces, with more to come in the future.
When you buy a gift for another user, you can send it already upgraded - and watch them unwrap their collectible artwork right in chat. Upgrading a gift costs a small number of Telegram stars, which are used to pay for blockchain services.
