The Association NFT Collection
In an exciting collaboration between the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), the 2022 NBA Playoffs are being commemorated through a unique collection of dynamic NFTs titled "The Association."
Unique Features of the Collection
A total of 30,000 NFTs are being minted for this collection, with each of the 240 players from the 16 playoff teams having 125 editions. These NFTs change appearances based on live game data, reflecting each player’s achievements and on-court actions.
Dynamic Changes and Live Data Integration
Connected to live data feeds via Chainlink Oracle and powered by the Galaxis smart contract, these NFTs undergo visual transformations that reflect the players' performances. These changes can include new backgrounds, player accessories, and unique emojis, all crafted by various artists. The more significant the player's achievements during the playoffs, the more extensive the visual updates to their NFT.
Minting Process and Distribution
The minting process for The Association NFTs is conducted through a blind mint, ensuring that collectors won't know which player’s NFT they receive until the reveal. This adds an element of surprise and excitement to the collecting experience. Players are assigned randomly, with fairness and transparency ensured by Chainlink VRF (Verifiable Random Function), providing every participant an equal chance to receive any player from the playoff teams.
These NFTs are free to mint, making them accessible to a broad audience of NBA fans and collectors.
Achievements and Traits
The NFTs are programmed to evolve based on specific achievements during the 2022 NBA Playoffs. These achievements influence the traits and accessories of each NFT, with changes occurring progressively as players hit certain statistical milestones. Some of the key achievements include:
-
Scoring 30+ points or making 4+ three-pointers in multiple games.
-
Achieving 10+ assists or rebounds, and 3+ forced turnovers progressively across different games.
-
Special moments like game-winning shots in the final 24 seconds or breaking playoff statistical records.
